Born in 1987 in Baghlan, Ajmal Omari is originally from Kabul province. Ajmal developed a keen interest in photography and journalism when he was at high school. At grade 8th, he joined a local radio “Adeeb FM” working on news and social programs. Following his high school graduation in 2011, he attended several journalism and photography workshops and seminars in Baghlan, Kabul, and Mazar-e Sharif provinces. In 2015, he was employed with European Photo Press Agency (EPA) as a freelance photographer in Baghlan. Ajmal’s work has appear on EPA and other media agencies.
