Born in 1990, Naseer Turkmani is an Afghan documentary photographer and visual artist based in Marseille-France. He uses photography as one of his main mediums with the intention of addressing issues about politics, identity, collective identity and how state as an institution portrays or tries to project certain ideas of identity in the public sphere. His works have been displayed nationally across the country as well as internationally at the Niawran Cultural complex (Tehran), Munch Gallery (New York), Spazio Reale Gallery (Switzerland), Etihad Modern Art Gallery (UAE), and Art Academy (London). In addition, he had two solo photo exhibitions at French Cultural Institute in Kabul.
