Aref Karimi was born in 1986 in Herat, Afghanistan. Following his high school graduation, he entered department of journalism of Herat university after passing Kankor (national university entrance exam). In 2007, he graduated with a BA in journalism. Aref has years of work experience as a journalist and photographer working with several prominent national and international media organizations.
